Tree House

How amazing are these luxury tree houses... They remind me of fairy tales and Never Land. I could definitely live the high life in one of these!

The Dresses - Oscars 2011 Red Carpet

So here are my favourites from this years red carpet, especially Michelle Williams in Chanel and Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein... I also thought Natalie Portman looked gorgeous, as did Camilla Alves... Was not so keen on Scarlett Johansson in varying shades of plum lace by Dolce & Gabbana, and Cate Blanchett's Givenchy dress was nice from the waist down, but the yellow bead detail round the shoulders and back was a little odd... as was Jennifer Hudsons cleavage in that orange Versace gown... but back to (in my opinion) the fashion HITS...

Something Fishy?

So I thought I'd try the new beauty therapy craze and have a fish pedicure... along with my trusty side kick (Bella my 2 year old little girl). Actually it was Bella's idea in the first place... mesmerized by the fish nibbling away at peoples tootsies she was desperate to have a go. So to avoid a tantrum I signed us up and 10 minutes later we were faced with the very real prospect of having to dunk our feet into what I'd convinced myself was a bowl full of mini Piranhas... Bella's feet were in and out in a matter of seconds (the novelty wore off fairly quick for a ticklish toddler). But here's the science bit...

Garra Rufa fish are exotic pedicurists. Found naturally in hot springs near Kangal, a small town in Turkey, they have been softening and cleansing the skin of bathers for centuries. In an unusual reversal of the food chain, the fish spa treatment is mutually beneficial to you and the fish. They feed while you have your skin exfoliated. Their suction-cup mouths are perfectly shaped for gently lifting dry skin away, without damaging the healthy new cells underneath - revealing soft, supple and smooth skin for you. More importantly, fish therapy is a completely painless process. Most people find it pleasurable, a tickling, almost tingling sensation something akin to a light massage.

My conclusion... well in all honesty after 15 minutes my feet really didn't feel hugely different, perhaps slightly smoother but nothing compared to a normal good pedicure/scrub. The whole experience felt quite odd, like a combination of pins & needles and perhaps a light tickley massage. Not entirely unpleasant but very weird all the same. In my opinion it's fun to try but a complete gimmick, the sort of thing everyone will try once but I can't see it becoming a staple treatment in many peoples beauty regime unless they have a weird fishy foot fetish haha!

Banksy goes to Hollywood

So our favourite anonymous "street artist" has taken his talents state side. The following 9 pieces have been discovered in La La Land...

Puppy Love! Top Shop Unique AW11

Wow what a crazy ass fashion show, but I loved it, from the spotty frocks to quirky fake fur, the models even had Walt Disney-inspired hair that was pinned into two high rolled ponytails like cute Mickey Mouse-style ears, featuring gorge black velvet ribbons, smokey eyes and *giggle giggle* black noses, even their nails were white with Dalmatian spots.... Top Shop Unique has well and truly gone all Cruella de Vil! Mwah hahaha *evil laugh* and they call it Puppy Love... xxx

INKED

One of my favourite artists works not only with a brush and canvas but with an electric needle and human skin... nothing horrific... I'm talking about tattoos!

Angelique Houtkamp is a foxy blond, walking, talking pin up girl from Amsterdam covered head to toe in tattoos. Creator of an impressive collection of tattoo style water colour paintings, two published picture books "Tattoo Darling" and "Tattoo Mystique" and her new Line Drawing Book (more specifically for tattoo artists). Her work is instantly recognisable for it's simplistic take on classic pin up style tattoos with, in my opinion, a slightly burlesque vibe. Either way her designs would look equally becoming hanging on a wall as they would on the arm of a buff sailor...

First blog ever... Drum roll...

Hello cyber world... well actually as I currently have 0 followers I suppose this is like a geeky online version of talking (typing) to oneself. So if you have by chance stumbled upon this, I can assure you I'm not mad... on second thoughts perhaps at times that's somewhat debatable. But anyhow I will try not to let the momentous pressure of this being my first ever Blog send me into a waffling frenzy, and instead I shall leave you with something intellectually stimulating, thought provoking and quite possibly life changing...

...Only joking, here's some funny pictures of monkeys...
